About Website

This website was set up by resolution of, and is maintained by, the Vale of Evesham Historical Society.

Copyright © 2005 All material on this site is the copyright of the Vale of Evesham Historical Society, the individual author or Evesham Town Council and may not be published elsewhere without permission.

Thanks are due to many contributors, most notably Michael Barnard for his illustrations, and all those who have helped develop the site since 2000.
VEHS Webmaster Dave Snowden

The site was built by the current webmaster,
David Snowden, using Microsoft FrontPage 2002 with FrontPage Extensions (FrontPage was used in preference to Dreamweaver or native  code for ease of maintenance by future developers).

Thanks are owed to the Worcestershire Archaeological Service, Worcestershire Library Service, The Fairfax Battalia of the English Civil War Society and to the Royal Geographical Society.

The Fairfax Battalia is a re-enactment group that recreates the military and civilian life of a company of soldiers from the period of the English Civil War (1642-1651).  Any civil war re-enactment photographs that you find on this web site have been reproduced by the kind permission of the Fairfax Battalia, who retain the copyright.

The Royal Geographical Society (with The Institute of British Geographers) is the Learned Society representing geography and geographers.  Evesham falls within the RGS-IBG Midland region with whom we organise joint events each year.  Some of our members are also Fellows of the RGS-IBG.
